چکیده

Most of faults in three-phase induction motors have relationship with airgap eccentricity. There are two forms of airgap eccentricity: static (SE) and dynamic (DE). According to the literatures, the well known signatures of dynamic eccentricity, on the stator current spectra, are sidebands around the principal slot harmonics (PSH). However, many other researches have shown that DE induces also spectral components around the fundamental, but few are reported on the sources and the causes of these components. In this direction and since it is difficult to study experimentally the DE separately from the SE; the present paper attempts to explain, analytically and by simulation, the generation process of all frequency components that are a function of only DE. For that reason, a detailed analytical study for three-phase induction motors working under DE is performed. This study is based on rotating field approach. A general theoretical analysis of the interaction between all harmonics of the eccentric airgap permeance and the stator and rotor MMF components is put forward. The simulation results, obtained from an accurate model, confirm the existence of specific frequency components around the fundamental, caused by the dynamic airgap eccentricity. The interactions between the DE and the inherent SE are also illustrated using this mathematical model. 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Magnetic Saturation Impacts on Fault Analysis of Squirrel-cage Six Phases Induction Motors using Winding Function Approach

Multiple coupled circuit modeling (MCCM) of squirrel-cage induction motors (SCIMs), or winding function approach is the most detailed and complete analytical model used to analyze the performance of faulty SCIMs. Already, in variate papers this approach was used to 3phases SCIMs, but this paper extends the above-mentioned model to 6phases SCIMs. Various simulations of variative faults are carri...

Increasing the Efficiency of the Power Electronic Converter for a Proposed Dual Stator Winding Squirrel-Cage Induction Motor Drive Using a Five-Leg Inverter at Low Speeds

A dual stator winding squirrel-cage induction motor (DSWIM) is a brushless single-frame induction motor that contains a stator with two isolated three-phase windings wound with dissimilar numbers of poles. Each stator winding is fed by an independent three-phase inverter. The appropriate efficiency of this motor is obtained when the ratio of two frequencies feeding the machine is equal to the r...

Online Electric Current Based Diagnosis of Stator Faults on Squirrel Cage Induction Motors

Abstract—In the present paper, five electric current based methods to analyze electric faults on the stator of induction motors (IM) are used and compared. The analysis tries to extend the application of the multiple reference frames diagnosis technique. An eccentricity indicator is presented to improve the application of the Park’s Vector Approach technique. Most of the fault indicators are va...
